The results of the webinar dedicated to educational quality assurance, with a very positive feedback from participants and new training initiatives in preparation.
The recent webinar dedicated to educational quality assurance, the standards applicable in the Maltese context and the role of internal quality processes in the effective management of educational institutions has been successfully concluded. The initiative represented an opportunity for professional in-depth study for participants interested in understanding in an operational way how the principles of Quality Assurance can be translated into procedures, tools, responsibilities and daily practices within educational providers.
The webinar has been designed with a concrete application-oriented approach. The aim was not only to present theoretical concepts, but to accompany participants in understanding how an internal quality assurance system can support course design, student experience monitoring, evidence collection, process review and continuous improvement. This approach was confirmed by the results of the final satisfaction questionnaire, administered anonymously at the end of the course.
Satisfaction questionnaire results
The questionnaire received several responses and returned a very positive picture. The overall average score recorded on the eight closed-ended questions was 4.85 out of 5. All the evaluations expressed by the participants were placed between “I agree” and “I fully agree”, with no neutral or negative answers. This confirms that the webinar was perceived as relevant, clear and useful compared to the initial expectations of the participants.
Among the aspects evaluated with an average score of 5.00 out of 5 are the clarity of the course objectives, the teacher’s ability to explain, the involvement generated during the sessions, the effectiveness of the online platform and the overall satisfaction of expectations. These are central elements for an online training activity, because they indicate not only the quality of the content, but also the ability of the course to create a comprehensible, accessible and professional learning environment.
Qualitative feedback and practical application
The qualitative comments collected highlighted in particular the appreciation for practical examples, real-world case studies and the link between theoretical concepts and MFHEA expectations. Participants reported that detailed explanations of quality assurance standards and the possibility of understanding how these standards can be applied in concrete educational contexts are particularly useful. This result is consistent with Malta Quality Education’s mission: to support institutions, professionals and training organizations in the development of a culture of quality that is documentable, sustainable and oriented towards improvement.
A relevant element that emerged from the feedback concerns the ability of the webinar to clarify the relationship between Internal Quality Assurance and the operational management of the educational institution. For many providers, Quality Assurance risks being perceived as a documentary fulfillment. During the webinar, on the other hand, it was highlighted how it represents an integrated system of policies, procedures, tools, responsibilities and decisions, capable of directly affecting the quality of the learning experience, the consistency of programs, the effectiveness of teaching and the ability of the institution to demonstrate accountability towards students, stakeholders and competent authorities.
Future prospects and continuous improvement
The active participation and feedback obtained also confirm the growing interest in specialized training courses in the field of accreditation, academic governance, program design, student-centered learning, assessment, evidence management and preparation for audit processes. In a regulatory context that is increasingly attentive to the quality of processes and the transparency of information, educational institutions need operational, up-to-date and applicable skills.
Student feedback also offers useful information for the design of future editions. Some participants suggested spreading the course over a longer period, such as three weeks, or with one or two sessions per week. This structure would allow more time to be spent on practical exercises, group discussions and guided application of the tools presented. The possibility of evaluating, for the future, a face-to-face and accredited version of the course was also proposed.
Malta Quality Education considers these suggestions to be an integral part of its improvement process. The collection of feedback is not a final step, but an operational tool to review the format, strengthen practical activities and design initiatives that are increasingly adherent to the needs of the participants. The next editions will therefore maintain the practical and standards-based approach, while introducing more opportunities for guided work, discussion between participants and analysis of application cases.
In light of the results obtained, Malta Quality Education announces the development of further training initiatives dedicated to educational Quality Assurance, with particular attention to the MFHEA framework, European ESG standards, the design of internal quality systems, the preparation of institutional documentation and the management of accreditation processes. The new activities will be aimed at educational providers, quality managers, academic coordinators, teachers, consultants, administrators and professionals involved in the management of courses and training programs.
Among the topics that will be the subject of future in-depth studies are the construction of an effective AQI system, the drafting of institutional policies and procedures, the design of programs based on learning outcomes, the definition of assessment strategies, the management of satisfaction questionnaires, the monitoring of training performance, the preparation of the Self-Assessment Report, the monitoring of digital technologies and the organization of evidence for audits and training processes. accreditation.
The webinar that has just ended therefore represents an important result in Malta Quality Education’s path to support educational quality. The feedback of the participants confirms the validity of a training approach based on clarity, practical application, consistency with standards and attention to the student experience. On this basis, Malta Quality Education will continue to promote training initiatives capable of accompanying institutions and professionals in the development of more solid, transparent and continuous improvement-oriented education systems.
